November

(But it’s already December)

My goodness, it has been a while. I was going to blog in November but it got so hectic with assignments and work that I just never had the time 😥 But being the (lowkey) workaholic I am, it has been pretty good even though I’m nearly always tired! I started interning at the Global Engagement Office on campus as well as for the Business School. It’s a little funny to me that in a way, I feel like I’m achieving more things at UNNC than I did at UNSW? I also recently started doing a bit of private English tuition on weekends. All in all, these 3 jobs are a way to keep me occupied and a way to make some money on the side, because to be honest, the amount of contact hours were quite few in comparison to UNSW.

One other thing I really want to mention is online shopping addiction has returned. Jack Ma is a genius. I think I could go on and on about how much I love Taobao but it’s both a blessing and a curse. It’s so convenient to buy anything, and I mean anything. I might start buying normal grocery items on Taobao, after all, China delivers at a crazy speed. Sometimes, it can even come the next day – SO GOOD! Although, one of my orders during Double 11 did take nearly 2.5 weeks to come after getting somewhat lost in the middle but everything has arrived safely! I’ve spent way too much money in November and with me going to Shanghai tomorrow, I feel like I might spend even more. So many things are so cheap on Taobao and the quality isn’t even bad – SO GOOD, SO SO SO SO GOOD.

Anyway since the last blog post till now, I did manage to go out a bit, amongst all the work and extra-curricular stuff I signed up for. I went to Ningbo Museum during Golden Week (China’s National Holiday), visited Laowaitan for the first time, had the greatest teppanyaki buffet for less than $50aud, did a 4 hour karaoke session and watched Dr Strange and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I feel like I’m working a little too much for someone on exchange but after being so busy in Sydney, it did feel quite weird in the beginning when I had a lot of free time.

I’m really excited to go Shanghai tomorrow to see Mish, even though I’m a little nervous about getting there. I’m going to be spending about 5 days there and this is also the first time I’m catching the train by myself so I’m hoping everything will go smoothly. Also, we’re going to Disneyland on Thursday!!!! I haven’t been to Disneyland since year 6 and that was in Hong Kong. I’m pretty keen to not think about uni or work and just be a kid again. I’ll end the post with a few photos, I had a lot more but I can’t be bothered transferring a lot of photos from my phone to my laptop.

Cute (but expensive) Japanese restaurant

I say this every post, but I’m definitely going to try be more consistent with my blogging. Especially with Shanghai! Although, if all I’m doing is studying and working then I don’t think that’ll make for a very interesting post.

Song recommendations:
Yuri on Ice (because this piece gives me a lot of feels when I watch the anime)
The Workday Release – Love in a Box
Jay Park – basically the entire ‘Everything You Wanted’ album but my favourites would have to be Drive, Me Like Yuh, Forever & All I Wanna Do
